Charity of the Year Partnership
TSB has been supporting City Gateway since 2015 through volunteering at our ‘Literacy Lunch’ sessions with vulnerable women, designed to build women’s confidence in using conversational English. Julia Chapman (Manager, Community Engagement) at TSB is a frequent volunteer at our Women’s Programmes:

"You can’t help but smile from ear to ear when you come out of a Literacy Lunch at City Gateway. It’s so rewarding to see the ladies open up and learn from you. My only regret is not being able to come more often as it’s always the highlight of my working week when I can make it!"

Volunteers have also given their time to help our young people become work-ready through entrepreneurial and CV skills sessions and office tours:

“When we’re talking about employability, I think it’s important for the young people to visit the office. I think it demystifies office work – and coupled with the guidance on their CVs - I feel like we’re making a tangible difference to people.” Ashley Hart, volunteer - TSB Bank

The TSB office has been a hub of activity to support our work... from ‘Winter Olympics’ to an epic Bake Off and the recent opening of ‘Mr Pigs’ office Tuck Shop, staff are well underway having so far raised over £3,500 since September 2017.

Bryony Aujla, Corporate Partnerships Manager at City Gateway comments: “We are hugely grateful to TSB and its partners. The money raised and the support we've had from volunteers is helping young people and families from disadvantaged communities to realise their full potential. We are delighted to have broadened our partnership which can only make our community stronger.”
