Hire an Apprentice
City Gateway Apprenticeships help bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace.
They give people the opportunity to earn while they learn in a real job, as well as gain a vocational qualification. But more than that, they add immense value to the employers they work for.
All our apprentices are enrolled in one of the following training programmes:
- Business Administration (NVQ Level 2/3)
- Customer Service (NVQ Level 2/3)
They also complete a six-week employability course, making sure they have the skills they need to make the most of this life-changing opportunity.
Apprentices have an 'on the job' assessment once a month from an NVQ Assessor, and around an hour a week of course work to do during working hours. During the first six months of their placement, they attend City Gateway one day a week and work towards their Technical Certificate and Functional Skills, which includes English and Maths qualifications (if required). After that, their placements can become full time.
Over 75% of apprentices who complete their apprenticeship with City Gateway secure full time employment at the end of their placement or go into further education. Our apprenticeship success rates are 12% above the national average.
We put this incredible achievement down to our tried and tested learning framework and the exceptional support that is given to both the apprentices and their employers by our team. Every employer is given a dedicated Relationship Manager who works directly with line managers, providing any advice, information and support they need.
"We have some very talented young people out there and their skills and talent are going to waste. A lot more organisations should get on board."

"It's excellent having an apprentice in our team. It's amazing to manage someone very much at the start of their career."
